Play Backgammon With Versatility
When I play backgammon, I always try to know my opponents strategy. A lot of people jump into a game of backgammon not really caring, figuring things out on the fly and just sticking to their main style of play. However, this isn’t an effective way to play backgammon and win. I need to know does my opponent want a fast game or a slow game, how strong is he at both? Personally, when I play backgammon I prefer a fast paced running game but that doesn’t mean I’m always going to play it. For example, I just played a guy who I knew had a strong running game, so you would think I was in for a fast paced game. Well I knew that he knew a fast backgammon game was my specialty as well. So, to throw him off, I immediately started with a priming game; anchoring points and working to hit his checkers. He was racing all over the backgammon board before he realized I was setting him up. It didn’t take long until I blocked points to freeze him and, since he got spread out, I started hitting on his checkers. Before long I had an opening, switched to my running game while he tried to recoup, and before he could get started again I had it won. When you play backgammon, you have to think in this way and that means you also need to have a command of different strategies. If you need practice, there’s no better place to play backgammon risk free than a free online site. Get on, practice strategies, and you’ll see your winning skyrocket.
